How we vet

1. We verify the paperwork against Oregon records

Every listed business has its license checked against the state — Oregon CCB for construction trades, the BCD electrical license for electricians, the state plumbing license for plumbers. We confirm the bond and the general liability insurance. The license number and the date we last checked it appear on the business's page, and we re-check quarterly. If a license lapses, the business comes off the site.

2. One business gets it — or nobody does

We list about one business per skill per area. When you tell us what you need, it goes to that one business, and you get their name and phone number at the same moment they get your details. You can call them yourself straight away; they have also been told to call you.

If nothing on our registry fits, we say so and stop. We will not hand you to whoever happens to be nearest so that somebody gets paid. That is the whole difference between this and the big lead sites, and it is the part that costs us money.

3. We audit the businesses we list

We ring people we referred — unannounced, chosen at random, not everyone — and ask how it actually went: did they turn up, was the price close to the quote, was the work any good, would you have them back. Where it matters, we go and look at the work ourselves.

There is no review form on this website. Customers cannot post. Businesses cannot post, edit, gate, or pay to remove anything. What appears on a business's page is our own assessment from those audits — not a feed of submitted star ratings, which is a thing anyone can buy.

4. We remove businesses that stop earning it

A lapsed licence, work outside their licence, a safety problem, a no-show with no contact, a final price far above the quote with no explanation, or any attempt to lean on what an audit finds — those come off immediately.

Everything else starts with a conversation. When audits keep turning up the same complaint, we tell the business exactly what we heard and give them a chance to fix it. Most do. The ones that do not stop being listed.

What we are not

Willamette Pros is not the contractor. We connect you with an independent, licensed local business that performs the work under its own license, bond, and insurance.

Businesses pay us a fee for each customer we send them. Some newer listings start free while we see whether the fit is right. Neither paying nor not paying affects whether a business is vetted, what our audits find, or where it appears.

Willamette Pros is run by Noah Goodman, a licensed Oregon contractor. Noah also owns Two Man Crew, which is listed on this registry — it is vetted, reviewed, and removed on exactly the same terms as every other business here.
